HALSTEAD—Steve Vaughn, 72, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, at his residence in Halstead.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1951, at Newton to James Charter “JC” and LaVera (Pjesky) Vaughn.
He was a graduate of Halstead High School and attended Hutchinson Junior College.
He was a retired Harvey County Sheriff’s Deputy.
On June 21, 1974, he married Rosemary D. McMurry at Mount Hope, and she survives of the home.
He also is survived by daughters, Carrie (James) Grow, Halstead, and Tina (KC) Kersenbrock, Arlington, Texas; brother, Stan (Audrey) Vaughn, Salina; granddaughters, Sierra, Paige, and Brooke Grow, all of Halstead, and Abby Robinson, Arlington, Texas.
No services will be held.
Memorials may be given to KPTS Channel 8 or the Shriners Hospitals in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
