Stephen “Steve” Jaso, 50, passed away at his home in Wichita, Kansas on April 14, 2018.
Steve was born on Jan. 30, 1968, to John Jaso and Teresa (Leal) Jaso in Newton.
Steve was a supervisor and CNC Machinists, for Nance Manufacturing in Wichita. Steve took great pride in being a supervisor and a skilled machinist.
Steve was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was known as “Steeler Steve” and his home was filled with many items representing the Steelers. Steve LOVED and breathed football. Steve was also a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Steve also loved his dogs.
Steve was known for his contagious smile and his whole hearted laugh. He was outgoing and never met a stranger. Steve found the love of his life in Rhonda. Together they enjoyed hanging out at the bar, playing pool, and one great passion they had together was going to Colorado. One of his favorite places was the Garden of the Gods. He thought this was one of the most beautiful places and this was the place that him and Rhonda were married. His favorite mountain was Pikes Peak. He found much peace when he was there. He dreamed of one day of moving to Colorado.
Steve had a great love for all his family. There was nothing he would not do for them.
He is survived by his wife: Rhonda Jean (Spradlin) Jaso; parents: John Jaso and Teresa Ann Leal; children: Brittany Rodriquez, Lucretia Little, Alicia Brandt, Travis Wulf and Shayna Unisinn; siblings: Stephanie Morford ,Nicholas Jaso, Elizabeth Jaso,; and his grandchildren Caleb, Gracie, Charlee and Brody, many uncles and aunts and numerous cousins and friends.
A public visitation and service is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 20, at the Salem United Methodist Church Family Life Center in Newton. The service will be at 6:30 p.m. at the same location. The family will be gathering at the Eagles Club following the service.
