Obituary: Ruth Nebergall

Ruth Nebergall, 100, passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at Newton.

She was born March 29, 1918, in Newton to Glenn H. Inghram and Nellie A. Kizer Inghram. On Jan. 15, 1936, she married Russell M. Nebergall. They shared 73 years of marriage before he passed away on May 25, 2009.

Ruth was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother, enjoyed reading, sewing and handiwork. She volunteered many hours in 4-H and after-school programs teaching young girls how to knit and crochet.

Ruth and her husband Russ helped start the first ambulance service in Hesston. She was a member of the Hesston United Methodist Church.

Ruth is survived by her daughter Peggy Regier and husband Don of rural Newton, 11 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Kenneth, Everett and Robert Inghram; a sister, Marie Spangler; and three daughters, Sally Fiedler, Judy Buchkoski and Robby Nebergall.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Miller-Ott Funeral Home in Hesston. Private family graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hesston Public Library, Hesston Senior Center or the Hesston Ambulance in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Hesston.
