Ruth Ann Cole passed away on Sept. 27, 2020.
Ruth was born in Newton to Charles and Minnie (Giresh) Hege on Nov. 9, 1944. Ruth graduated from Newton High School and later moved to Tucson, Ariz., where she married Chris Cole in 1976. They were married for 42 years until his passing in 2018. In 1989, Ruth and Chris moved to Cochise, Ariz. During the years, Ruth owned and worked in several businesses, including a carpet business, landscaping company, nursery and a small restaurant. Ruth put her all into everything she did. She had a servant’s heart and received great joy in taking care of the needs of others. This showed clearly in her later years when she became a home health provider in her community.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings, including both Gene and Kenny of Newton, Betty Lea of Tucson, Ariz., Mary Zimmer of Kissimmee, Fla., Charlene Reidling of Kingfisher, Okla., and Linda Bemiss of Newton.
Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her children, Nathen and wife, Inez, Brecca, Robin, Tera and husband, David; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Hege and wife, Rebecca of Newton; sister, Elsie Challens and husband, Robert, also from Newton and sister, Lorrie Sexauer and husband, Fred of DeSoto, Texas, as well as brothers-in-law, John Reidlinger and Bill Bemiss.
Memorial services will be at a later date.
