OBITUARY: Ronald Eugene Miller

Ronald Eugene Miller, 69, of Park City, passed away on Feb. 10, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. Ron was born on Dec. 17, 1952, in Newton, the son of Norman and Loretta (VanKley) Miller. He married Jin Hu Dec. 5, 2003, in Derby.

Ron is survived by his wife Jin of Park City, daughters Tara Schmidt and husband Nick of Newton, Kylie Tucker of Newton, Tina Miller and fiancée Tan Le of Wichita. Surviving grandchildren include Max and Leo Schmidt, Lucy and Jack Tucker and Quinn Le and sister, Cindy Brinkman and husband Marvin of Emporia.  Ron was preceded in death by his parents.

Ron was passionate about classic cars, WW2 history and memorabilia. He would share with his family and friends about his love for history and appreciation of antiques and felt it was important to hang on to our heritage. He enjoyed watching football games, playing and watching softball games. Throughout his life, Ron enjoyed lifting weights. He and his wife, Jin, attended the First Baptist Church in Wichita.

His girls have fond childhood memories of games, movies, pranks, tackle football, tennis, antiquing and hitting the batting cages on the weekends. The girls especially loved hearing stories of his collectibles, pranks and his adventures. He would share his life’s wisdom with his girls and gave them strength through his strength. He always helped in any way that he could. He was a protector of his girls.

He worked at Boeing and Spirit aviation for many years and retired at 62 years of age.

A graveside memorial service to honor Ron is planned for March 5 at 11 a.m. at the Whitewater cemetery. We welcome friends and family to attend.
