Rodney “Rod” C. Stevens, 66, died on Feb. 16, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 15, 1955, in Osceola, Iowa, the son of Howard and Elvora (Lemmon) Stevens. The family moved to Kansas in the spring of 1966.
For many years, Rod worked in mobile home manufacturing, construction, welding and as an ironworker.
Rod enjoyed just about anything involving family and friends. Whether it was horseshoes, dominoes, going to the casino, riding his motorcycle, Walnut Valley festivals, shooting guns or wrenching on anything with a motor.
Rod is survived by his sister, Alora Stevens Finch of Halstead; sister Nanette (Tom) Forrester, of rural Hillsboro; brother, Randy of Hutchinson; sister, Marla Dent of Halstead and many nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be at noon on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. A visitation will be the evening prior on Friday, March 4, from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
