Robert Jon Kern, formerly of Newton, passed away Dec. 27, 2020, at the age of 79 in Tacoma, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Margaret Kern of Newton, and brothers, Don Jr. and Curtis Rossiter.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Kern of Tacoma, Wash.; daughter, Becky Kern of North Carolina; two sons, Keith Kern of Dallas and Kraig Kern of Pasadena, Calif.; twin granddaughters, Claire and Danica Kern of Fort Worth, Texas; and first wife, Patricia Kern Roberts of Maricopa, Ariz.
He attended Hutchinson Junior College and Kansas University.
Robert lived most of his life in California, working in the banking business, followed by Fred Meyer Co. in Tacoma, Wash.
Graveside services and interment were in Tacoma, Wash.
