OBITUARY: Rafael Lizcano

NEWTON—Rafael Lizcano, 66, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, at Newton Medical Center.

He was born on Aug. 18, 1954, in Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Manual Lizcano and Augustina Acosta. Rafael married Eloisa Cisneros on Sept. 9, 1973, in Mexico City, Mexico.

He moved to Newton in April 2001 and most recently worked at White Wing Construction.

Survivors include his wife, Eloisa Lizcano of the home; son, Sergio Lizcano and wife Victoria, and son, Alfredo Lizcano, all of Newton; daughter, Elizabeth Lizcano of Mexico; 10 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Rafael is also survived by his brothers, Rene, Jorge, and Manuel; and sisters, Teresa, Hilda and Carmen, all of Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parent and several siblings.

The casket was open at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 9, between 1 and 5 p.m.

The Recitation of the Holy Rosary was at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton. Inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Newton.
