Obituary: Paula J. Stein

HALSTEAD—Paula J. Stein, 77, died Monday, March 5, 2018, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, Kan.

She was born May 29, 1940, at Norwich, Kan., to Paul J. and Mildred A. (Boldt) Stucky.

She was a rural Halstead resident since 1995, formerly residing in Newton.

She was a retired elementary school teacher in the Wichita and Newton Schools for 36 years and was a substitute teacher following her retirement.

She was a member of Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, Newton; N.E.A. and Delta Zeta Sorority.

On April 19, 1985, she married Kenneth W. Stein at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, Newton. He survives.

Other survivors include her daughters, Cinda (Jeff) Abney, Hutchinson, Jamie Rogers, Gardner, Kan., Pamela Stein, Odenton, Md.; son, Michael (Beverly) Stein, Lenexa; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church, Newton, with Pastor Donna Voteau officiating.

Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont, at a later date.

Memorials may be given to Reno County Hospice or Trinity Heights Methodist Church, Bell Choir in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
