Patricia J. Angood, 82, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. She was born Nov. 7, 1933, in Newton to Gerald J. and Josephine (McDonald) Angood. She retired from the former Holstein Motors as an office secretary.
Patricia was a graduate of the University of Utah. She lived in Madison, Wis., for a time when she was younger and worked at a local pharmacy. Her time in Madison was special to her, and she recalled that time fondly. She was an accomplished ballerina and dancer. She enjoyed teaching dancing in Wichita through the years. She had a sharp mind and kept it active doing crossword puzzles and word searches. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially canasta. She had an extensive stamp collection and enjoyed listening to music. Patricia had an appreciation for classical music.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews who took good care of her and watched out for well being. She also is survived by several cousins.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Donald and Jerry Angood and sister Anne Katherine Braden.
Graveside committal service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton with Pastor Donna Voteau presiding. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
