Obituary: Norman Gingrass

Norman Gingrass, 74, passed away peacefully at home in Chandler, Arizona on Dec. 10, 2020, with his wife, Jennifer, by his side. Norman was a graduate of Sedgwick High School, Class of 1964. He was the middle child of Harold Eshelman Gingrass and Gertrude Huebert Gingrass.

Norman spent many years working the family farm in Sedgwick and found a second career in real estate as he moved with his family to Missouri and later to Arizona. Norm was a proud husband, father, and “Papa.” He loved NHRA drag racing and was the 1969 NHRA Division 5 Top Fuel Champion.

Norman is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jennifer (Howard) Gingrass of Chandler, Arizona, daughter Dawn Sloan (Ross) of Peoria, Arizona, and grandchildren Charles Kosmack and Mandi Kosmack of Peoria, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Trudy Gingrass and son, Peter Shane Gingrass.

Due to the current circumstances, a celebration of life will be held in the spring in Sedgwick.

Norman admired the work of Surrendered Souls Rescue for dogs. In lieu of flowers, he would be honored to have memorial donations sent to this local organization: Surrendered Souls Rescue 3507 S Siesta Lane Tempe, AZ 85282.
