Obituary: Nathan Martinez

Nathan Albert Martinez, 26, died on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at his home in Wichita.

He was born on April 3, 1990, the son of Anne M. Morgan and Vincent A. Martinez, in Kansas City, Mo.

Nathan graduated high school from Wichita Northwest High School in 2007.

He loved music and being with his friends. Nathan also was an avid guitar player.

Preceding him in death are his maternal grandfather, Dick Morgan, and two aunts, Angie Martinez and Terry Scheffler.

Survivors include his mother Anne M. Ellis and husband Norman, Wichita; father, Vincent A. Martinez, Newton; sister Abigale A. Martinez, Wichita; two stepbrothers, Alexander R. Ellis, Tempe, Ariz., and Ian Lund and wife Elizabeth, Utica; maternal grandmother, Maggie Morgan; paternal grandparents, Alberto and Annie Martinez, Newton.

A book signing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, with the family greeting visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newton.

Memorials may be to the Kansas Humane Society in Wichita, in care of the funeral home.
