OBITUARY: Melvin Ray Farquer

Melvin Ray Farquer passed away Sept. 7, 2023, in Wichita.

He was born June 4, 1943, in Newton to Dorris Baldwin and Melvin Farquer. He was a life long resident of Newton. Ray served in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam War Era Veteran. He is a life member of American Legion Post No. 2 and Veterans of Foreign Post No. 2715.  He enjoyed woodworking, making and redoing furniture. He enjoyed working on puzzles since COVID-19, and enjoyed drinking coffee with his buddies. Loved his dog Ranger.

Ray is survived by his wife Judy Farquer, daughters Pam Barden and husband Bobby Barden, Dawn Petterson and husband Steve Petterson, sister Kaye Jaso and husband John Jaso; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorris Patterson and daughter Cheryl Corona.
