OBITUARY: Mary Ann Nault

Mary Ann Nault, 85, died July 3, 2021, at Medicalodge Wichita. She was born Oct. 26, 1935, in Syracuse, Kan., to Alfred and Regina (Jantz) Klatt. On April 3, 1969, she married Wesley R. Nault in Seattle, Wa., and he survives of the home.

She moved to the Wichita area with her husband in 2005 from Fredericksburg, Va., and was an active member of the Sedgwick Christian Church.

Mary worked for Boeing in Wichita when she was younger and for the Hampton, Va., and Mt. Laurel, N.J., police departments as an administrative assistant, where she was charged with payroll and processing tickets, among other tasks,

As she was raising her boys, she was active in Boy Scouts and followed her sons’ sports teams. She worked concession stands at her sons’ sports events and especially enjoyed making cotton candy. In her retirement years, she took up genealogy research and enjoyed tracking down and documenting her family’s history by going through newspaper and county records.

Mary is survived by her husband, Wesley, of the home; and sons, Robert (Cindy) Nault, Scott (Pauly) Nault, Jon (Eileen) Nault and Wesley Jr. (Wendy) Nault; she is also survived by her sister, Martha (Jack) Hooton; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lawrence and Bill Klatt; and sister, Lenna Aldean.

A visitation was 5 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 8, at Sedgwick Christian Church in Sedgwick, Kan. Private family interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick, Kan.

Memorial in Mary’s memory may be made to Sedgwick Christian Church in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
