HALSTEAD—Lorraine P. Siemens, 94, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022 at Schowalter Villa, Hesston.
She was born Oct. 22, 1927 at Buhler, Kansas to John V. and Elizabeth (Warkentin) Regier.
She was a teacher in South Hutchinson, Burrton and Buhler schools.
Lorriane was also a dairywoman and homemaker. In 1961 she and her husband, Robert moved to Halstead and started their dairy operation which they operated until his death in 2011.
She was an active member of First Mennonite Church, Halstead, where she was a member of the Women’s Mission Society, Ladies Sextet and taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School.
On Oct. 24, 1952 she married Robert Harry Siemens at Buhler Mennonite Church. He preceded her in death, Jan. 14, 2011.
She is survived by son: David (Lu) Siemens, Halstead; daughters: Cindy Siemens, Halstead; Julie (Rick) Lee, Wichita; grandchildren: Jenna (Jesse) Wellman, Mekial (Kemberly) Bliss, Manon and Kyndall Lee; brother–in-law and sister-in-law: Jim and Patricia Siemens.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melaynee Bliss; brother, Leroy Regier and sister, Evelyn Martens.
Viewing will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022 at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
The family will greet friends from 6:30-8.
The committal service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21 at Restlawn Cemetery, Newton, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at First Mennonite Church, Halstead.
Memorials may be given to First Mennonite Church in care of Kaufman Funeral Home.
