On Jan. 12, 2022, Kent K. Jantz died at his home in rural Walton, surrounded by his family after courageously battling advanced prostate cancer since 2018. He was 68 years old.
Kent is survived by his wife, Rosie (Beachey) Jantz of 45 years, and children, Jason (Anna) Jantz of Lawrence and Troy (Sara) Jantz of Hesston, and grandchildren, Hudson and Harrison Jantz of Hesston. Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Milferd and Irene (Schmidt) Jantz of Walton.
Kent was born on Dec. 19, 1953, in Newton, the only child of Milferd and Irene. He graduated from Hesston High School in 1971.
Kent was a skilled worker. He owned a service station in Hesston for a time; he worked as a mechanic, millwright and welder, and was a lifelong farmer. He was a loving husband, father and a proud grandfather.
