OBITUARY: Kenneth Koehn

HALSTEAD—Kenneth J. Koehn, 81, died Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas.

He was born May 7, 1939 to Jesse and Emma (Smith) Koehn.

Kenneth attended Kansas State School for the Deaf at Olathe.

For 45 years he worked at Excel Industries, Hesston as a painter and assembler.

Kenneth was lifelong Halstead resident and a member of Grace Mennonite Church, Halstead.

On May 22, 1966 he married Laura J. Koehn at Copeland, Kansas; she survives of the home.

Other survivors include son: Kendel (Deanna) Koehn, Halstead; daughters Krista (Troy) Smith Halstead; Karlita (Keith) Barkman, Cartwright, Manitoba; brother, Rodney Koehn, Stockton, California; sisters: Lenora (Ron) Starks, Hutchinson; Florene Koehn, Halstead; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Clayton Buller.

Viewing will be from 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Grace Mennonite Church, Halstead. The family will greet friends from 6:30-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2021 also at Grace Mennonite Church.

Interment will follow at Halstead Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Kansas School for the Deaf in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
