Jimmie (Jim) L. Senn, 78, of Newton died Dec. 26, 2021.
He was born March 4, 1943, in Halstead, Kan., to Windon Senn Sr. and Dorothy (Milne) Senn.
Jim married Jeanie Gronau on Feb. 27, 1965, in Newton, Kan.
He was a retired Department of the Army, Supervisory Equipment Specialist and farmer. Although he spent 30 years maintaining and repairing equipment for the United States Army, his go to solution to repair equipment on the farm was frequently to get a “bigger hammer.”
Jim proudly served in the United States Army and Army Reserves for 37 years, retiring from the 89th Regional Support Command at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 5.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Michael (Stephanie Gibson), Troy (Diane) and Shane (Jessi) all of Newton, Kan.; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Colt) Pfautz of Hesston, Kan., Brittany Senn, McKenzie (Clayton) Spencer, Annika Senn, Jakob Senn, Lillian Senn and Leah Senn, all of Newton, Kan.; great-grandchildren, Paxton, Bristol, Kaiden and Rylan Pfautz; sisters, Bonnie Mason of Sedgwick, Kan., and Patricia Asher of Newton, Kan.; brother, Marvin Senn of Woodville, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Windon Senn, Jr.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m., on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 421 S. Ash, Newton, Kan. Family will be present one hour prior to the service. Graveside service will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Newton, Kan.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, masks will be required for all those who attend.
