HALSTEAD—Jerry E. Ayers, 79, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, at Newton Medical Center in Newton.
He was born Nov. 15, 1939, at Kansas City, Mo., to Richard and Jeanette (Nave) Ayers.
He was a jack-of-all-trades, and he was a farmer for most of his working life.
On May 10, 1998, he married Kay Lewis at Osage City. She survives of Halstead.
Other survivors include a son, Jerry Ayers Jr.; daughters Twila Ayers and Julie Kehole; brothers Donnie Ayers, Fairbury, Neb.; Ronnie Ayers, Hutchinson; sisters, Joyce Breshears, Burrton, and Marilyn Turner, Hutrchinson; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers William, Tommy and Richard Ayers; sisters Peggy Dunsmore and Barbara Depler, and half-sisters Jean Duhler and Betty Comstock.
Services are pending and will be scheduled for a future date.
Memorials may be given to the Halstead Baptist Church in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
