Jason Wayne Sutcliffe, 44 years young, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born on March 10, 1979, in El Dorado Springs, Missouri, to Milo Andy Sutcliffe and Sylvia (West) Doyle.
Jason was vice president of operations at Empower Physical Therapy in Newton for many years. He loved his job in physical therapy. He mastered and taught martial arts, including Kung Fu and Tai Chi. He was a consummate entertainer at various venues and events in the area, including Sand Creek Summer Daze in Newton, as well as a highly cherished member of the Phlox fire flow community, performing monthly at the Final Friday shows at Old Town in Wichita. He was a very outgoing, positive, talented and adventurous person. He also loved “jeeping” and performing with fire and props. Everyone who met him loved him. He was just that kind of guy.
He is survived by his mother, Sylvia Doyle; his sons, Max and Leo Sutcliffe; and brothers, Milo Jeremy (Jennifer), Josh Sutcliffe (Cynthia), and Larrydan and Matthew Doyle. He is also survived by his partner, Miranda Davidson, three nieces and two nephews.
Jason was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Justin Sutcliffe.
A gathering with friends was from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton with a slideshow video. There was an opportunity to speak and share about Jason at 7 p.m.
