OBITUARY: James ‘Kenny’ Riley

James “Kenny” Riley, 79, died on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2018, in Whitewater.

Kenny was born on Feb. 27, 1939, in rural Graves County, Ky., to Francis and Geneva (Phillips) Riley.

Kenny married Caroline Beaushaw on Oct. 22, 1966. They were married for almost 52 years prior to his death.

Kenny was a quiet man who enjoyed fishing and Chiefs football. He was a carpenter and worked construction building bridges. When he retired, he worked at home repairing bicycles.

He is survived by his wife: Caroline Riley; sons James Jr., and Robert Riley; five brothers and sisters; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant siblings.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends and family prior to the service. There will not be a committal service.
