Gregory Lynn Lambert passed away on Feb. 13, 2022, in Las Vegas.
He was born Sept. 16, 1947, to John C. and Dorothy (Suffield) Lambert in Newton.
He graduated from Newton High School in 1965 and married Deborah (Totty) Gage. Sons, Thomas and John were born to this union joining their sister, Angie, from a previous marriage. They later divorced.
He was in the Army Reserves and later joined the Army and became a Vietnam veteran.
On Oct. 19, 2003, he married Mary Dietrich, bringing her three children into the family.
His sister remembers, along with others, when he was younger, he always wanted to be with his older sister, always following in her footsteps. When she got married, he spent a lot of time with her and her husband learning the techniques of fishing, hunting and camping.
His hobbies were woodworking, and his work on obtaining family history for the family genealogy was important to him.
He dearly loved and adored all of his family, especially becoming a grandpa and a great-grandpa. He also thought he was special since two of his nieces were born on his birthday.
He is survived by wife, Mary of the home; daughter Angie (Clifford) Good, Hesston; sons, John (Rita) Lambert, Wichita, Patrick (Shelley) Lambert, Moundridge, and Daniel (Mary) Lambert, Portland, Ore.; Mary’s children, Tammy (Steve) Campbell and Michelle (Jody) Sanders, Spokane, Wash., and Kim (Chris) Simmons, Surprise, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Sisters, Karen Pulaski, Sedgwick and Marcia Mote, Wichita, Brothers Mike (Sue) Lambert and Kevin (Becky) Lambert, Newton and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Thomas, brother Larry Lambert and sister Shelly Lambert.
Cremation has taken place, and his service will be on April 21 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nev.
