Grace Anna Schroeder was born to George and Helena Abrahams on Dec. 27, 1927, in Goessel. She died Jan. 10, 2023, in Hesston.
Grace attended Emmenthal Elementary School and graduated from Goessel High School. She continued her education at Bethel College and Hutchinson Community College.
Grace married John Schroeder on Dec. 10, 1947. They lived in North Newton and raised two children, Jeffrey and Catherine.
Grace was active in the Bethel College Mennonite Church and committed her life to many volunteer organizations.
Grace will always be remembered for her beaming smile, her sense of humor and the love she showed others.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband, John.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Schroeder (Mary Kay) of Los Alamos, N.M., and Catherine Holdeman (Delvin) of Wichita. Grace had four grandchildren: Jessica Schroeder of Colorado Springs, Colo., John Schroeder (Jenny) of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Emily Raybould (Mark) of Ramona, Calif., and Meghan Schroeder of Santa Fe, N.M. In addition, she had three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Raybould, Cali Raybould and Zachary Schroeder.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton. Lunch will follow.
