OBITUARY: Frank G. Spurney

Frank G. Spurney III died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, at Presbyterian Manor in Salina.

Frank was born Aug. 13, 1934, in Belleville to Frank and Alice Spurney. He married Jean E. Asher on Nov. 25, 1961, in Laredo, Texas. They met while both were serving in the U.S. Air Force. She preceded him in death in 2019.

Frank graduated from Belleville High School in 1952. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1956 and from law school in 1958. Frank was a former county attorney for Republic County, both in the 1960s and in the 2000s. He practiced law with his father until he died in 1979.

Frank and Jean had three children, Blaine (Cara), Blair (Mark Rogers) and Blake (Melody). Other survivors include a brother, Joe (Cozette) Spurney, and two grandchildren, Arden and Pierson Rogers.

Frank was a proud father and grandfather and a loving man. He also was a proud Jayhawker, who would tell anyone he met.
