Obituary: Frank C. Brown

Frank C. Brown Jr., 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at Newton Medical Center surrounded by family and friends.

Frank was born and raised in Donnelly, Minn. He settled in Ottawa after meeting the love of his life Wilma Jean (Oaks) Brown while he was stationed at Fort Riley serving in the U.S. Army. Frank was passionate about sports, family and his faith. He spent nearly all his life serving the church in different capacities including as a Gideon.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife Wilma Jean Brown, his parents Frank Brown Sr. and Elma (Perkins) Brown, and two brothers, Lee and Kelley Brown.

Frank’s survivors include his brother Richard Brown (Renee) of Kearney, Mo.; two children, Audry Brungardt (Jo) of Newton and Roy Brown of Olathe; two grandchildren, Jared Brungardt (Antonette) of Wichita and Aaron Brungardt (Mikala) of Redding, Calif.; and four great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at Christ Lutheran Church, 5356 N Hillside St., Wichita, KS 67219. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at Highland Cemetery, 1050 E. 15th St., Ottawa, KS 66067 with military honors.
