OBITUARY: Eldon Rector Severn

Eldon Rector Severn was born Nov. 14, 1943, in Portland, Ore., to the Rev. Clayton and Orpha (Rector) Severn. (Incidentally the same birthdate as Prince Charles) and passed from this life to Heaven on April 1, 2021. He lived in several states and graduated from Weeping Water (Neb.) High School in 1961. He was active in many sports and was a member of the 1960 Nebraska state basketball championship team.   He was a born salesman selling encyclopedias, life insurance, etc.

Stationed in Germany, Eldon served in the Army during the Vietnam conflict. He lived in Newton for the past 15 years and was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Sharon Mae Severn, and his wife, Susan (Jensen) Severn.

He leaves to mourn his passing his aunt Ila Marie Lee and sister Alvera Sandberg, both of Newton; sister Ramona Little of Flint, Mich., brother John Samuel Severn (Margie) of Albuquerque; son Ryan Severn (Anne) of Seattle; and daughter Shereen Schwaninger (Shawn) of Courtland, Neb.; four grandsons; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to COVID, a private memorial service will be announced at a future date. Memorials may be sent to New Life Assembly of God Church in Newton.
