HALSTEAD—Eileen Penner, 88, died Friday, April 27, 2018, at Homestead of Halstead.
She was born Jan. 11, 1930, at Sedgwick to Benjamin and Lula Mary (Cadle) Grattan.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altar Society, Sacred Heart Guild and the Friendship Club, all of Halstead.
She was a homemaker, but she also worked as a ward clerk at Halstead Hospital and served as church secretary for Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
On Oct. 2, 1949, she married Wilbert Henry “Bud” Penner at Halstead. He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 2014.
She is survived by her son Larry (Kathy) Penner, Madison, Wis.; daughter: Cheryl (Robert) McCart, Halstead; daughter-in-law Patsy Hanson Penner, Halstead; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Greg Penner; granddaughter, Stephanie McCart; great-granddaughter, Emma Thompson; brothers Jack and Bill Grattan; and sister Margaret Webster.
The Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, and Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 3, both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead, with Father Jeffery Fasching officiating.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, located at Northwest 12th and Halstead Road.
Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart Caring Hearts fund in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
