David E. Unruh, 66, died Dec. 2, 2021, at his Wichita residence. He was born May 27, 1955, in Newton to Cornelius and Alice M. (Didier) Unruh.
David was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed spending time fishing and camping. He especially enjoyed trips to Colorado. Family was important to David, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and grilling for gatherings. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. David had two special dogs, and he looked forward to trips to the dog park.
He is survived by his sister, Cindy (Clyde) Lindsey, and fiancé, Deborah Maidon.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton, with Pastor Nathan Paulus presiding. Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Newton.
