OBITUARY: Curtis E. Keazer

Curtis E. Keazer, 83, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018 at his Newton residence. He was born July 18, 1935, in Marion to Herbert B. and Elvira (Rosier) Keazer. On Jan. 20, 1955, he married Marjorie Whomans at Marion, and she survived of the home.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newton and a retired heavy equipment operator.

Curtis is survived by his wife Marjorie: two sons Kim and his wife Verlene Keazer, and Dale and his wife Alice Keazer; two daughters, Melanie and her husband Larry Love and Lynne Richert; one sister, Mary Jo Kitterman; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack Keazer, two sons, Bryan Keazer and Mark Keazer, and one grandson, Christopher Keazer.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Newton with The Rev. Nicholas Voelker Celebrant. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will precede the Mass at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Newton. There will be no public visitation time.

Memorials are suggested to Marjorie Keazer to help offset expenses and may be left with Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
