Clyde N. Young, 80 died, Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

HALSTEAD—Clyde N. Young, 80 died, Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

He was born Dec. 21, 1941 at Newton, Kansas to Ray and Alice (Ewert) Young.

He was a lifelong Halstead area resident and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Halstead.

He was 1959 graduate of Halstead High School and took part in Halstead Go-Getters 4-H Club, served on the Lakin Township Board for many years and was a two-term past President of the Harvey County Farm Bureau Association.

He worked as a farmer/stockman and drove the maintainer for Lakin, Macon, and Newton townships.

On June 3, 1961 he married June L. Gronau, Halstead; she survives of Halstead.

Other survivors include a son: Bill Young, Whitewater: daughter: Debbie (Ross Nisly) Church, Newton; sister: Dorothy (Ivan) Thiessen, Moundridge; step-brother: Fallie Pauls, Viola; grandchildren: Jerrica (Chuck) Johnson, Ray (Erica) Church, Brandon (Tori) Young, Joey (Jenna Van Meter) Young; great-grandchildren: Lynnlee Johnson, Tayten Church and Becca Young.

He was preceded in death by son-in-law, Larry Church and step-sister, Donna Pauls.

Calling hours will be from 2-8 p.m. with the family present from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022 at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.

Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2022 at Pleasant View Cemetery, 15400 NW Prairie Creek Rd, Elbing, KS.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to the service.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Young family to offset funeral expenses in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
