Obituary: Cheryl Jessie Wiggers

MOUNDRIDGE—Cheryl Jessie Wiggers, 63, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022 at McPherson Hospital.

She was born May 23, 1958 at Newton, Kansas to Harrold and Wilma (Ashford) Pettiecord.

She was a 1976 graduate of Lawson High School, Lawson, Missouri and was baptized in the Lawson Baptist Church.

After graduation she moved to Halstead and began a career in banking and accounting.

She worked in various capacities at The Halstead Bank, First Bank, Newton and most recently in accounting for Nutrien Ag Solutions, Galva.

While she loved her work, her first love and devotion was to her family.

On Jan. 17, 1981 she married Referd G. Wiggers at Halstead, Kansas. He survives of the home.

She is also survived by sons: Tyler and Seth Wiggers, Moundridge; daughters: Courtney (Kenton) Odgers, Inman; Lindsey (Eric) Mathews, Highland Ranch, Colorado; Rachel (Michael) Carpenter, Hesston; Carly Wiggers, Moundridge; brothers: Darrold (Denise) Pettiecord, Kidder, Missouri; Calvin (Carrie) Pettiecord, Humansville, Missouri; sisters: Linda (Vernon) Canada, Moundridge; Marilyn (Jerry) Taylor, Lawson, Missouri; Carolyn (Jim) Schwartz, Sedgwick; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Harold Pettiecord, Jr., Rev. Richard Pettiecord, Arnold Smith and a sister, Edith Koehn.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022 at Kaufman Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2022 at Grace Mennonite Church, Halstead.

Interment will follow at Halstead Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Union Rescue Mission in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
