OBITUARY: Cheryl A. Ashcraft

NEWTON—Cheryl A. Ashcraft, 76, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, at her home in Newton.

She was born on Feb. 14, 1945, in Wichita, the daughter of Leland and Claribel Hurlock Nossaman.

Cheryl married Willard C. “Butch” Ashcraft on June 5, 1965, in Wichita. They lived in Wichita until moving to Newton in 1972.

She worked at the Harvey County District Court Office for 13 years, retiring in 2010. Cheryl was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Newton.

Survivors include her husband, Butch Ashcraft; daughters Carrie Holler and husband Gary, and Kelli Ashcraft with companion Angie Stroda all of Newton, and grandchildren Abbie Shanelec and husband Evan of DeSoto, Emilie Holler of Valley Center, and Gage and Allie Ashcraft of Newton.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ron Nossaman.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, at First United Methodist Church in Newton.

There will not be a visitation or viewing as cremation has been affected.

A memorial has been established with Good Shepherd Hospice and contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Kan., 67114.
