Carol Kay Penner, 77, died Jan. 20, 2021, at Newton Medical Center.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1943, in Halstead to Martin and Elsie (Stucky) Schrag.
On May 4, 1963, she married Ralph Wayne Penner at Moundridge, and he preceded her in death May 17, 2011.
Carol was a member of the Koerner Heights Church of the Mennonite Brethren in Newton.
She is survived by her sons: Ryan and his wife Jen Penner and Rydell Penner; brother John Schrag; two sisters Helen Wehry and Twila Norris; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and husband Ralph.
A private family committal service will be at Restlawn Gardens of Memory with Pastor Dave Froese officiating. A book will be available for friends to sign from 1 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 25, at Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials in Carol’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
