Beulah Collins, 82, of Newton passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016. She was born to
Benjamen and Alice Wood on Feb. 11, 1934, in Portis.
Beulah attended school in Portis and then Downs, where she graduated in 1952. Beulah married Gerald Collins in 1952, and the couple moved to Beloit and started their family. Together they had four children Rick, Gary, Rodney and Daria. In 1966, the family moved to Newton, where Beulah and Gerald remained.
Beulah loved cooking for her family, and her meatloaf was a crowd favorite. She collected all kinds of birds, and loved every kind of doll.
Beulah was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamen and Alice Wood; husband, Gerald Collins;
brother, Bill Wood; and sister, Lucille Hatfield.
She is survived by sons Rick (Angie) Collins, Gary Collins and Rodney Collins; daughter, Daria (Bill) Graves; grandchildren, Aaron, Clancy, Tara, Jeremy, Corey, Josh, and Jake; sister Jean
Edwards; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at Restlawn Garden of Memory Cemetery, Newton.
