OBITUARY: Annette Marker

Annette M. Marker, 75, died October 21, 2021 at Wichita, KS.

She was born April 18, 1946 at St. Joseph, Missouri to George W. and Annette M. (Cunningham) McCarthy.

She was an elementary school special needs paraprofessional.

She was a resident of Bentley since 1980 moving to Halstead in 2014.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead, Bentley Senior Center, and was a former Girl Scout leader and camp director.

She was also very active serving as a volunteer quilting blankets for homeless veterans and at the Kansas Learning Center for Health.

On June 27, 1967 she married Charles M. Marker at Asheville, North Carolina.  He preceded her in death November 6, 1997.

Survivors include her daughter: Carrie (Clint) Herman and grandsons, Cole and Connor, all of Halstead. Brothers: George (Wanda) McCarthy; John (Dianne) McCarthy, all of Wichita; Jim (Debbie) McCarthy, Overland Park, KS; Father Daniel McCarthy, Rome, Italy; Michael (Eleanor) McCarthy, Olathe, KS; and sister, Mary (Leo) Bender, Shakopee, MN.

The Rosary and candle light vigil will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021 and Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021 both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Bentley.

Memorials may be given to the Kansas Learning Center for Health or Bentley Senior Center in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halst
