OBITUARY: Anita Kay Williams

Anita Kay Williams, 71, died November 5, 2018 at her Newton residence.

Anita was known as “Kay” to her family and friends. She was born Nov. 15, 1946, in Memphis, Tenn., the daughter of James G. and Reba Doris (Wrather) LaFont.

Kay had two daughters Renee and Michelle with her first husband B.J. Rooker Jr. In 1971, Kay married W. A. Williams Jr., M.D., in Cape Girardeau, Mo., and he proceeded her in death. Dr. Williams adopted Kay’s two daughters and added two sons, Wade and Tyler. She worked alongside her husband in the Arapahoe Medical Clinic in Arapahoe, Neb., and Plum Creek Medical Clinic in Lexington, Neb.

She enjoyed water skiing, horseback riding, spending time at the lake and traveling. She also could be found relaxing with a good book and working in her yard tending her many plants and flowers. We all knew Kay as a strong fighter who had a zeal for life and continued living life on her terms as long as she could.

Kay is survived by her children, Renee Robinson, Michelle Linden, Wade Williams and Tyler Williams. She also is survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Jimmy LaFont and sister Suzanne LaFont.
