Allison Kristine Hammond, 34, of Hillsboro passed away Feb. 11, 2020. Allison was born Aug. 29, 1985, in Wichita to Gregory Earl and Karen Sue (Jenkins) Hammond.
Allison and her family moved to Salina, when she was young, and she graduated from Salina Central High School in 2004. Allison was an active Diconate member of the First Christian Church in Newton and served as the chairperson of Christian Education for seven years. She was a terrific mother and enjoyed spending time with her son Carter. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved sharing it with family and friends. When Carter was young she worked as a social media influencer, which allowed her to stay home with him. Allison later went on to work as a CNA in the home healthcare setting, and she had an amazing gift for working with the elderly.
Allison was preceded in death by her son, Gavin Kristopher; father, Gregory Earl; grandfather, Robert Jenkins; and her aunt, Cheryl Campbell.
She is survived by her son, Carter; mother, Karen Hammond, and dad, Rodney Voth; sister, Kari Jenkins and wife Gerogia; and children, Miles and Emmalia Jenkins; grandmother, Lanita Jenkins; uncle, Mike (Mary) Jenkins; aunt, Kathy Jester; aunt, Kristi (John) Copple; and numerous cousins.
Memorial service will be at 2 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at First Christian Church in Newton with Pastor Gary Bell presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Ronald McDonald House – Sleepy Hollow in Wichita or the First Christian Church of Newton, and may be sent in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
