Alice L. Miller, 96, passed away on June 11, 2023.
She was born May 2, 1927, in Cedar Point, Kansas, to Myron Clark and Jesse Maree (Harrison) Drinkwater.
The family moved to Cottonwood Falls, where she graduated from Chase County Community High School in 1945. On May 26, 1946, she married Willis R Miller at Newton, where she resided until her death. She was employed at Ben Franklin and later at Safeway in the meat department until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis; her parents; and siblings, Lola Thompson, Lou Littler, Harold Drinkwater, Orlo Drinkwater and Burt Drinkwater.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Bill) Hamm, Marilyn Whittington and Marsha Huffman; grandchildren, Wesley (Andrea) Hamm, Justin (Amy) Whittington, Jessica Whittington, Cassie Roberts, Rachel (Josh) Buckle and Abby (Rob) Turner; and great-grandchildren, Haley, Drake, Fletcher, Oliver, Coley, Maddox, Kieley, Emma, Greyson and Aaron.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at East Side Methodist Church. Services are at 2 p.m. Friday, June 16, at East Side Methodist Church. A private burial follows the service. Cremation has taken place.
The family suggests memorials to East Side Methodist Church or Victory in the Valley.
