OBITUARY: Adella M. Prescott

HALSTEAD—Adella M. Prescott, 102, formerly of Halstead, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, at the Kansas Christian Home in Newton.

She was born on Dec. 16, 1918, in Newton, the daughter of Henry and Lydia Wiggers Seger. Adella was raised in Newton, where she graduated from Newton High School.

She married Wayne E. Prescott on Jan. 19, 1946 in Syracuse. Shortly after they moved to La Junta, Colo., later moving to Pratt. Wayne died on May 11, 1976.

Adella later married John A. Walker and they moved to Halstead. Johnny died on March 30, 2002.

For many years, she was an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Corey Daggett, Kent Prescott, Chantel Prescott and Sarah Duncan, 12 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

Adella is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son, Cedric Kent Prescott; daughter, Barbara Jean Daggett; stepson Konrad Prescott and three brothers, Curtis, Lawrence and Morris Seger.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 26, at the Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.

Graveside and interment services will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26, at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt.

Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 25, between 1-8 p.m.
