Obituary: Thelma Lela Elliott

Thelma Lela (Williams) Elliott, 95, was born May 5, 1921, in Sabetha, the daughter of Claire and Effie Gilkerson Williams.

Thelma married Donald Ray Elliott on April 23, 1941. He preceded her in death in July 1964.

She passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016, in Newton.

Thelma had four children: Phillip Ray, Wichita, Karen Branson, Wasilla, Alaska, Gregory Lynn, Park City, and Jan Roger, South Haven. There are eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, along with her parents and husband, was one brother, Donald L. Williams.

Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3040 N. Jackson Ave, Wichita KS 67204, with a dinner following at 3:30 p.m. In the Park City library basement, 2107 E. 61st St North, Park City.

There will be no visitation or viewing as cremation has been effected.

Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.
