Vanderhoof selected to lead Cooper Early Education Center

From the Newton School District

The USD 373 Board of Education has approved the hire of Alyssa Vanderhoof as principal of Cooper Early Education Center.

Most recently, Vanderhoof served as principal of Skelly Elementary School in El Dorado. Before that, she served as principal of Rawlins County Elementary School in northwest Kansas.

Vanderhoof has nine years of experience in the classroom as well, teaching 4th grade at schools in Augusta and Valley Center.

“I’m overjoyed to spend my days with our youngest students and their families to help them gain the best foundational skills for their educational careers! I have heard nothing but amazing things about the staff and students at Cooper Early Education Center, so I am thrilled to join the team and meet everyone very soon,” Vanderhoof said.

Cooper Early Education Center serves as home base for many early childhood programs, including preschool, Head Start, infant/toddler services, and Parents as Teachers.

Vanderhoof’s first day will be Tuesday, July 12.
