Tosh hired as Sunset principal

On Monday night, the USD-373 Board of Education voted to approve the hire of Teresa Tosh as principal of Sunset Elementary for the 2022-23 school year.

NEWTON—On Monday night, the USD-373 Board of Education voted to approve the hire of Teresa Tosh as principal of Sunset Elementary for the 2022-23 school year.

Tosh currently serves as superintendent of USD-490 El Dorado Public Schools.

“I am honored and humbled to be named the new principal of Sunset Elementary School. I am excited to work alongside the school’s dedicated teachers, parents and staff. My experience with the students at Sunset was magic, and it will be a joy to experience that every day,” Tosh said.

Tosh graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in special education. She furthered her academic journey at Emporia State University, earning a master’s degree in educational administration. Additionally, Tosh has state licensure in district and K-12 building level leadership, K-12 special education: emotional disabilities, and 5-12 language arts.

Before going to El Dorado, Tosh worked for Wichita Public Schools, Haysville Public Schools and Wichita State University.

Tosh is married with two children. Her hobbies include caring for plants, reading and spending time visiting her children.
