Sheriff’s Office releases name of man killed in train collision

The Harvey County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the man that died in a train accident Monday afternoon in rural Harvey County.

Taylor Koehn, 21, of Halstead, was driving a farm tractor southbound on South River Park Road on Monday around 3:15 p.m., crossing the railroad tracks near Southwest 24th Street, when his tractor was struck by an oncoming train at the railroad tracks.

Koehn was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident was determined an accident.

Emergency responders on scene included the Burrton Fire Department, Halstead Fire/EMS, Kansas Highway Patrol, Burrton Police Department, Halstead Police Department and the Harvey County Sheriff’s Office.
