Harvey County confirmed eight Covid-19 cases Monday bringing the county’s active case county to 23 and the total number number of cases to 40.
With the new cases, six were identified as close contacts of known active cases. Two cases came from out-of-state travel according to the Health Department.
New cases include two males and a female in their 20s, two females between 10 and 19 years old, two females between 10-19 years old and a female under 10 years old as well.
Of the cases, four were already in precautionary quarantine before results came in. All eight are currently in isolation at home.
The jump in eight cases is twice the counties previous largest jump in cases of four. Active cases have ticked up since June 18, when the county had one cases.
As of Monday there have been 1,648 tests conducted in Harvey County.
As of Friday, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment confirmed 13,538 cases of
COVID-19 in the state to date. The KDHE reported 167,548 completed tests in Kansas.
