Graduation set for Sunday May 19

For Newton Now

Newton High School Commencement is Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Athletic Park on Fischer Field.

Relatives, friends and guests will sit on the stadium and bleacher seats. Guests are not to stand by the fence during graduation so all guests will be able to see. Seniors, band members, board of education members, faculty, staff and administrators will be seated on chairs on Fischer Field. Lawn chairs and or traffic from guests will not be allowed within the fence surrounding the field with the exception of guests in wheelchairs.

Guests utilizing wheelchairs will be allowed to enter the field area with one person to assist them and sit on the concrete area located in the front of the stadium. Professional pictures of graduates receiving diplomas will be available for purchasing for students and parents.

Parking is limited and will be first come, first served. There is limited handicapped parking available. The parking or drop off point for handicapped guests is the lot located at the west entry gate. Tri-M will be selling bottled drinks at the concessions stand on the west plaza. The alternative location for graduation, in case of inclement weather, is Ravenscroft Gymnasium. Seniors and senior parents will receive a phone call if the location has been changed. Seating in Ravenscroft will require a ticket (each senior will receive eight tickets). Additional seating, for viewing of a live broadcast, will be in the NHS auditorium.
Tickets are not required in this location. Admission gates for Commencement, regardless of location, will open at 12:30 PM.
