Newton Police investigated a domestic disturbance and reported gunshots in the area of East 12th and Magnolia.
According to a release by the City of Newton, late in the evening of May 5, officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the area and while on route 911 received multiple reports of gunshots in the area.
Officers arrived, determined no one was injured searched two residences and found no victims or suspects. Police did recover a handgun and several spent cases.
The City release stated after interviewing witnesses officers also identified two people involved in the disturbance.
“No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing,” the release stated.
