Gillispie Meats is for sale.
The notice went public this Monday that the well-known Newton butcher shop would be up for purchase.
Newton Now reached out to Roger Gillispie who said he’s selling the business he operated for 22 years on account of health reasons.
He said he hopes to sell the business to keep it going and on Monday already had received one interested call.
The shop serves as Newton’s only independent butcher. It also serves items such as sandwiches and on Wednesdays, bierocks.
