A juvenile was taken to the hospital after a boat caught on fire at Harvey County East Park.
At 12:11 p.m. Harvey County Dispatch received a call reporting the fire near the Willow Bend area of the park.
The boat was occupied by four people in the water when it caught fire. According to Harvey County Public Information Officer Kyle McCaskey the gas tank of the bought ignited. Those on the boat got off. A juvenile was injured by the incident and taken to St. Francis with potentially serious injuries.
The three others were uninjured.
Newton Fire/EMS, Walton Fire/EMS, as well as the Harvey County Sheriff’s Department responded to the incident.
