COVID-19 cases under 100 for first time in over a month

COVID-19 cases have now dropped below 100 according to County numbers.

COVID-19 cases have declined for the fifth week in a row and are now below 100.

Active cases in the county dropped to 78 on Oct. 4. It’s a decrease of 22 from last week and the lowest total since mid-August.

The county saw 81 new cases over the last week and 102 recoveries.

Six residents are currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Another resident succumbed to the disease, according to county statistics, bringing the county death total up to 79 since the pandemic began.

Thirty-seven percent of new cases in the county this week involved those under 19 years of age.

The county saw 16 breakthrough cases with those vaccinated. Eighty percent of new cases were with the unvaccinated.

Fifty-nine percent of eligible residents in the county are vaccinated. Fifty percent of all residents are vaccinated.
