By Adam Strunk The district will hire a director of communications. At its Monday night meeting, the Newton Board of Education voted 6-1 to create a director of communications position. Board members previously discussed the need for the position following the failure of the district’s bond issue and following results of a communications study commissioned by the district. Superintendent Deb Hamm recommended creating the position.
